Earlier in the year, the Ontario Landlord and Tenant Board proposed changes that pertain to hearings before the Board. Specifically, the Board proposed a new rule and form that require landlords seeking to evict a tenant for non-payment of rent and to collect rent the tenant owes (Form L1) or, to collect the rent the tenant owes (Form L9) to submit information to the hearing officer just before the hearing.
After responding to public comment and feedback, the LTB has finalized the rule and forms. To access the new L1/L9 Information as of the Hearing Day form, see the LTB website. The form can now be completed online.
Additionally, the Board is considering a change to the rule and guideline for review of an LTB order (Rule 29 and Guideline 8), and is seeking public comment on the proposed changes. The deadline for submitting feedback is July 19. If you are interested in submitting your feedback, visit the LTB website at www.ltb.gov.on.ca and follow the “What’s New” icon.
